Opened by former president, Nelson Mandela in 1997, the Durban ICC was South Africa’s first International Convention Centre and has played a pioneering role in attracting international events to South Africa’s shores since its inception.
This world-class facility, renowned for its high standards of service excellence, has successfully staged some the world’s most prestigious and complex events.This multi-award winning Centre has been voted Africa’s Leading Meetings and Conference Centre by the World Travel Awards no fewer than 13 times in 14 years and has been rated amongst the World’s Top 15 convention centres.
The Durban ICC offers first-world convenience and a proudly African meetings experience. The Centre is fully Wi-Fi enabled and connectivity is complimentary to its delegates and guests.The on-site business centre offers an internet café, as well as banking and foreign exchange facilities and medical services. The Centre is fully wheel-chair friendly and provides other facilities for the physically challenged.
The Centre is located 30-minutes from the King Shaka International Airport and over 3,600 Hotel rooms are within a 10-minute walk of the Centre.Directions from the airport: Follow the N2 Northern Freeway in a southerly direction. Approaching Durban, take the Mt Edgecombe/Umhlanga slip road, heading towards the sea. Follow the signs to Durban and proceed along the Ruth First Freeway M4 (Northern Freeway) past Virginia Airport and Durban North. On approaching Durban, proceed straight over the Sandile Thusi Road (Argyle) intersection and turn right onto Bram Fischer Road (Ordnance Road).
